G.C.E (O/L) Examination 2023 (2023) Application – Apply Online O/L Exam 2022 (2023) Online Department of Examinations OL Admission Card 2023

Applications of private candidates for the above examination will be accepted from 1st February 2023 to 28th February 2023. Each private candidate is advised to fully read this notification and carefully understand it before filling out and submitting the application online. Special attention should be paid to accurately entering the selected Town and Subjects of the examination. Any later requests for amendments will not be considered.

Applications

After completing the application online, please keep a printed copy of the PDF file safely in your possession if needed for later submission. It is not required to send the printed copy to the department.

Only the applicants who have obtained school leaving certificates are allowed to apply as private applicants. Applying as a private candidate by being a student in a school is entirely prohibited. Committing such an offense shall be subject to invalidation of examination results and debarring from sitting any future examinations.

You cannot apply for this examination after 12.00 midnight on 28t February 2023. The online facility will be closed after 12.00 midnight of the prescribed date. The application closing date will not be extended for any reason.

Technical instructions to log in to the system and to fill out the application.

Following the paths of the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka can be used to fill out the application.

Visit the official website and click “Online Applications (School Exams)” under “Our Services” or,
Use the official mobile app. “Exams SR1 LANKA” of the department and click “Online applications (School Exams)” or,
Visit https://onlineexams.gov.lk/eic

Enter your name, National Identity Card number, and Telephone number for registration.

If you do not have a National Identity Card Number, you may use the National Identity Card Number of your mother / father or guardian for registration.

When the National Identity Card Number is entered, you will receive a code number (OT P) via SMS and use the code number to log in to the system.

Read the instructions therein and click the “instruction” button for more details. Watch and read technical instructions, general instructions, and the instruction video, then select the “Next” button to initiate completing the application.

Payment of the Examination fee and downloading of the application

The examination fees can be made via post offices or bank cards (as credit/ debit payments)

The application can be downloaded by visiting the website through the link sent to you along with the SMS when you made the payment successfully.

If you pay by bank credit/debit cards, you should select “pay by credit/ debit card” under “Payment method”.

Examination Fees

1 Subject – 100/- Rupees
2 Subject – 150/- Rupees
3 Subject – 200/- Rupees
4 Subject – 250/- Rupees
5 Subject – 300/- Rupees
6 Subject – 350/- Rupees

The subjects and towns you have selected are very important. If a sufficient number of applicants are not available to establish an examination center in a particular town, you will be directed to an examination center established in the nearest town.

Verification of identity

It is compulsory to provide the National Identity Card or a valid Passport or a valid Driving License at the examination hall to prove the identity of the candidate. The identity card should be provided on every question paper on which the candidate appears at the examination.

Candidates with special needs should compulsorily fill in the details requested under Yes’ category of the icon “Are you a special needs candidate?”.

Special attention is drawn to :

Examination fees paid for this examination will not be refunded fully or partially or transferred to any other examination fee.

No applicant is permitted under any circumstances to change examination center or medium or subjects after submitting applications. Therefore, it is advised to complete the application accurately.

Applicants who applied following subjects under the second category should appear for the practical test as well. Candidates who failed to comply with this requirement will not be issued results irrespective of their sitting for the written test.
