• Demonstrate a commitment to a positive and inclusive school culture and be able to work with all members of our school community.
• Be able to collaborate and share expertise across and within the whole school community.
• Show a commitment to keeping up to date with current UK Safeguarding practices.
• Have a strong commitment to the pastoral care of the students.
• Have experience in working with groups of children. Classroom teaching experience / teaching qualification/the ability to facilitate training or workshops would be an advantage.
• Have an understanding of developmental, social, emotional and educational needs of children.
• Have experience working with school aged children, 3-18, and their families.
• Be comfortable and confident in facilitating discussions on sensitive and contentious subjects and devise classroom activities to address these issues.
• Be open-minded, flexible and empathetic.
• Be able to respect students’ privacy but also understand limits to confidentiality; maintain professional boundaries at all times.
• A background in counselling/mental health/psychology is essential.
• The position will be full-time during school hours: Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:30pm.
• Deliver the workshops for parents and staff.
• Teach PSHE curriculum on a weekly basis.
